International students may be eligible for funding, and should email me to learn about possible opportunities.
Students from lower-income Commonwealth Countries may be eligible for Commonwealth Scholarships or Split-Site Scholarships to do a PhD in Sheffield.
Students from China, may be eligible for a joint China Scholarship Council-University of Sheffield PhD.
Postdocs
Postdocs are encouraged to contact me to discuss opportunities for pursuing independent funding. Here are a few possible funding options:
Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowships
Leverhulme Early Career Fellowships
BBSRC Discovery Fellowships
Newton International Fellowships (all countries)
NSERC Postdoctoral Fellowships (Canadians)
NSF Postdoctoral Research Fellowships (US)
Masters students (MRes, MSc, MBiolSci)
I usually supervise a few masters students every year. Projects are listed under the specific courses, but we work on topics that span the three degrees (Ecology and Environment, Evolution and Behaviour, Plant and Microbial Biology).
Students should get in touch if, for example, they want to enrol in the Ecology and Environment program, but are interested in a project I have listed in one of the others.
